Reindeer is a cloven-hoofed mammal of the deer family, the only representative of the genus Reindeer. In the distant past, reindeer made it possible for man to explore the North. As a result of the taming and domestication of reindeer, reindeer husbandry arose, that is, the breeding of reindeer for meat, skins, milk and use as riding and pack transport. The reindeer is also the mount of Santa Claus himself and one of the symbols of Christmas and the New Year holidays.
